Furniture Painting Classes

Want to transform your space? You're in the right place. Paint is one of the easiest, most economical, and planet-friendly ways to update the look of your home. Our classes give you the skills so you can paint with confidence.

Bellefonte Vintage offers two different classes to accommodate various skill levels. We use Fusion Mineral Paint for all classes.

Furniture Painting 101

If you've never painted furniture, this is the class for you! This class covers how to prep your piece, the use and care of painting tools, and how to get the look you want, whether it's shabby chic, farmhouse, or modern.

In the first part of the class, we'll work on an instructor-provided piece of furniture. Following that, you'll get the chance to paint a small wood project to take home, similar to those pictured below. (projects may vary, depending on the availability of materials.)

All materials are included. Price: $45

Bring-Your Own-Piece
Furniture Workshop

Bring your own piece of furniture to paint and we will walk you through the process from start to finish! Paint, tools and supplies provided.

 Price: $90

Guidelines for selecting furniture to paint:

  • You must be able to carry your piece in yourself. We recommend plant stands, stools, small tables, chairs, or one or two drawers from a larger piece. (see photos at right for examples.)

  • Furniture should be solid wood or wood veneer and can be stained or previously painted. No laminate or MDF as these require special treatment. Any needed repairs should be made before class.

  • Avoid furniture made of mahogany, cherry, oak, and pine, unless you plan to paint it a dark color. These woods require priming when using light colors and class time is insufficient to add that step.

  • Allow at least 3-4 hours to complete your project.

  • If you have never painted furniture or some of the terms in these guidelines are unfamiliar to you, we strongly recommend that you take Furniture Painting 101 first.

  • If you have a question about the piece you want to paint, send us an e-mail or text a photo to bellefontevintage@verizon.net or 302-762-7878
